I was using MSSQL 6.5 on an NT4.0 server, running smooth and well. One day I wanted to upgrade to MSSQL 7.0. The first thing I did was to install NT Server Service Pack 4 as I was told by the setup program of MSSQL 7.0. I did what it said and finally I completed the upgrade successfully and my server restarted. However, my NT server kept on re-starting itself and I could never get into the NT server console again.

After that, I reinstalled the server and the service pack, turned off the auto-reboot option of the system, and then re-installed MSSQL 7.0 once again. The same problem came up, but this time the blue screen told me that the NT system file MSVCRT.dll ( something like that) was corrupted and the system cannot started.

Anyone know how to solve the problem ?

Thank you very much in advance.

Regard,

Gary
