    Hung Server Service

I had processes that had hung on my server, statuses on the processes were runnable and rollback. These spid could not be killed. I stopped the SQL server
service to clear the connections but the server would not go down. I ended up having to shutdown the NT server. My question is, is there anything
you can do when your server will not shutdown other then shutdown the NT box?

This happens often. There will always be times when the only way to get resources back is to shut down machine the server is running on.
