Sql mail is not sending mails

My sql mail is started when i created a job and scheduled it
to send a mail it not sending..

if send a testmail it gives me this error

error 22022,sql server agent error

the sql server agent mail session is not running.check the mail profile or the sql server agent service startup account in the sql server agent profile.

Pl let me know any suggestions

you get the green light or no?
if it's not running it's not going to send anything.
double check that the email sevice is actually started before you start the job!

I had this error code after rebuilding SQL, when it seemed that SQL mail has started properly. It turned out that the Mail Session Mail Profile box was empty. Right click SQL Server Agent in the Management folder and make sure there is an entry for the Mail Profile.

double click sql mail,
then write profile name and test it.
