    Slow Running Server

Our server is running. There are no locks, and server has been rebooted but the problem is still there. This has been going on for some time now. I intend to restart the server. Does anybody have a quick solution, please help. Thanks for your assistance!!

Your server runs SQLServer exclusively or do you have another application(s) running there like MS-Exchange or others?

There are lots of reason behind it.

Some of the things that u should look for .....
    1. Memory settings.
    2. Pagefile.sys size
    3. HDD speed.
    4. Processor speed.
    5. Priority boosting.
    6. memory size.
    7. reindex.
    8. Data and log file location.
    9. Text and Image data location.
    10. Raid level
    11. query
    12. Hold locks
    13. server restart
    14. Type of index and type of transactions on it.

    so on..........

Recently had similar problems post implementation of my stored procedures, great they run really slow. The customer has more than twice the system I developed on, 2GB ram dual 800mhz, my system, 256MB PII 300mhz.

The solution, clean power, too many servers on one outlet and ups, and fresh ram 2GB cured.
