SQL/ODBC problems

hello,


what we have:
NT Server 4.0 running SQL 6.0
clients running Windows for Workgroups 3.11 using 16-bit ODBC


problems we have:
ODBC SQL Server driver communications link failers; DBL: lock not found errors; SQL Server Login errors; and others.

its my uderstanding that these errors are normal and occur when the SQL server is too busy to respond properly. are these normal errors, and what can be done to eliminate them?

if there is any further information i can provide let me know. thanks and please forgive the lack of information. i`m going off of problem reports like, "...its not working, come fix it..."
