Is it possible to switch off a fullscreen edit's Clear button?

what is the purpose of that ? Switch off a "cancel" button is common. But why switch off a clear button?

My users don't need a clear button - the only field they are updating is a dropdown list. This defaults to a value of `absent' if the field is null so the `clear' just confuses them
