I have: SQL Server 2005 EXPRESS and SQL Server 2008 on my PC. I succeeded to link 2008 to 2005EX in both "Encrypt=true" and "Encrypt=false" modes. I succeeded to link 2005EX to 2008 in "Encrypt=false" mode, too. But it is a problem if I use "Encrypt=true". All it is about SQL Server Native client (10.0). And NO success to use "Encrypt=true" with Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server.
