ACCESS 97 multi-user limitations?

I'm new here but I got to ask : is there a possibility that ACCESS 97 multi-users limitation is causing all the troubles here? We think that ACCESS 97 might not be able to support 50 users at a time. Each and every time that our program crash, the user count accessing the database is near 50.

I think that it may be caused by a programmation flaw. The programmer that did the program did not let Access take care of the primary key. He didn't use an automatic number and users accessing the database in a short lap of time may be using the same primary key number. Anyway, we are now fixing the problem but meanwhile, we need a temporary fix.

Do any of you think that the problem may be caused by an ACCESS 97 limitation?
