I recently changed my disk configuration on my sql 6.5 server. I moved the mssqldata directory to a raid 5 partition. Users are now complaining about the speed of the database. I changed the max async IO from the default 8 to 16 ( 8 disks on the raid device X 2). I have not heard any more complaints yet. Any other ideas?? I will run some disk monitoring tommorrow after running diskperf -y this evening on the server.
