I have a databse with userid. I have a form which enable each each user to logon. What I like to do is to add the username of current user logged in to each recored he updates or creates.

You have to have a column to keep that information in each table and you need to write code for it, either on front end or as triggers.

Thanks for the reply. What I was looking a for a code for that, and when this will be updated in another table. I can have a separate column in the main table. but that will not keep history of each record. For eg. Table A is the main table. Table B has all user names. Table C is the History table to track record updates like when and by who. Each time a recod is updated in Table A, there must be an insert in Table C with the date of change and by the user

You can put trigger in table a. Which rdbms do you use by the way?

triggers are only in adp, not in mdb.
