Win98 Standalone Installation
I can't get SQL7 to start running on my Win98 computer. I want to use it as both the server & client. It ran a trial version, then I pressed "Stop" and now I can't get it to run again! I've uninstalled & reinstalled the real version (not the trial)several times, the full and desktop versions, changed the server network & client network to all kinds of different settings - it won't start! Could someone tell me EXACTLY at what settings my server network and client network have to be? Under server network utilities I can choose from TCIP, Multiprotocol and IPX/SPX, and under client network I have more options, including Named Pipes. In SQL online books it mentiones that the server "listens" to "Shared Memory Library," but that's greyed out in my network settings! PLEASE ANYONE HELP!! THANKS!!
