    Problem when Installing Sql Server 2000

    Hi
    Can any one help me out of this problem
    when i am installing Sql Server 2000
    I am getting this error message.

    " A previous program installation created pending file operations on the installation machine .You must restart the computer before running setup"

    I restarted my computer ...but getting
    the same error message..

    Can any tell solution to this.

    Can you remove previous sql server installation from "Add Remove Programs"

    Faced exactly the same problem. There is a KB article around (do not have the RefNo at hand).
    But the problem arises when the Temp folder of the user you are running the setup under has blanks in it, e.g. "c:\Dccuments and Settings\Administrator\er\Temp\"
    The KB article gives some details about resolving the problem.
