"Production Support Experience" in SQL Server

IN ONE OF THE ADVERTISEMENT I SAW, IT SAYS "WE NEED PRODUCTION SUPPORT EXPERIENCE". AND MINIMUM CRITERIA IS, HE/SHE SHOULD BE A SQL SERVER DBA.

My Question is, what do we mean by "PRODUCTION SUPPORT IN SQL SERVER".

Can anyone give a good explantion on that, please?. Thanks in advance.

    Srinivasan.

in a production enviroment you may not be able to take a server down or lock a databse to work on it. you may have 100's of users online at once and the system needs to be as fast as it can be. uptime 24/7. recovery procedures, live online backup procedures....

    my 2 cents
