Corporate reports in Excel based on OLAP cubes ?
Hi!
I am trying to create automated Excel reports with pivot tables connected to OLAP cubes. Those cubes were generated with Navision (MS Dynamics).
However it is extremely slow, certainly because of the huge number of records in the cubes. There are far too many details in those cubes that I don't need (for example I just need sales by month and by products, and the cubes has the sales by minute and by sub-sub-sub reference of product).
How could I aggregate this cube into a cube' (just used for corporate Excel reports) and improve performance? Is "perspectives" the function I should execute? Perspectives may keep the data aggregated but will it have any impact on performance?
Thanks in advance
