    Red face ms sql to oracle

    is there any way to transfer tables to and from ms sql server and oracle databases(with out using any tools)
    i need query.

    What do you mean without using any tools? You have to use something like linked server or ssis (dts) to do that.

    Are "Free Tools" Acceptable?

    More to the point, are you referring to tools that you don't need to purchase? My colleague's point re: literally "no tools" is well taken - limiting yourself to "no tools" would be a bit extreme.

    DTS / SSIS is a major tool that comes with MSSQL Server, and works with most other DBs - a great option in your situation (for more reasons than the immediate one).
