Database Management Policies
Hi there!
We're in the process of defining a policy document about database access and management and would like some pointers as to what to include. Do you follow any particular frameworks like DAMA? And what do you think about Database Management/Access Policies, do you have one at your place of work?
All suggestions/opinions are highly appreciated!
thanks!

Don't grant more permissions than user needs.

Thanks, and whilst I agree 100% with you, the management and board of directors still would prefer a written guideline as to how the database and data should be accessed (access rights, auditing, encryption and data masking, views, etc). This would then form part of the company's policies which all DBAs should follow.
