    Question SQL 2000 "attacking" computer

    Two problems.
    1. Occasionally receive a message from Norton Antivirus that there has been an attempt to invade my computer (High Risk). Culprit is MSSQL.

    2. I installed the Tornament Pairing Program from the USGA
(GHINTPP) which automatically installs MSSQL. When I open TPP, access the "Help" menu, and open a topic I immediately get an error notice that the program has encountered a problem and must close which it does. I have tried deleting MSSQL$GHINTPP from the program files on my hard drive and reinstalling from a backup of my database. Same thing happens again. Can anyone help??

    Thanks in advance,
    Anne

    You can also try this:
Control Panel --> Administrative tools --> Services

And Stop all of SQL Services. Delete files as needed.

That will stop it. But if you have access to a Surface Administration tool, you can turn off alot of the rogue services that are running inside of there as options, such as 'send mail' etc.
