    Email alert when DTS package fails

    I am trying to configure emails alerts on DTS package on one of my servers , i am getting an error somthing like i need to add a new profile.I received emails every day from the scheduled jobs which succeed every day

    Did you run the package as sql job? If not, you need configure mail for sql service. By the way, do you use same account to start sql server service and sql agent service?

    I am going to run the package as job, but within the package there will be an email alert when cernain process failed. how do you configure mial for sql service

    Specify sql server account's mail profile in server properties -> server settings tab.
