Reverse Engineer Users in 8i .

    Hi

we have a migration project going on here at my client's place. We are moving from 8i on AIX to 10G on Solaris. Does anyone know how to migrate users or reverse engineer the same.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

the best thing is to use EXP utility, can export one user at a time, and the output contains all user object and data. of course, the exp utility has many options to let you control what is going to be exported.

Another option, is to use Oracle Designer. It allows you to connect to your Oracle8i database and capture schema, reverse engineer them, and write scripts to re-create them. if you are not familiar with Oracle designer, the learning curve is not trivial
