    Access97 doesnt recognize "as database" in dim

    I have selected Data Access Object in the References dialog box.

    Dim dbs As Database gives "Compile Error: User defined type not defined."

    did you check your References in VBA? is it possible you forgot to add in the proper one, or that the link possibly got broken? I believe it is covered by the Microsoft DAO 3.6 Object Library reference, though y ou might have a different version from 3.6. That would be my next guess.

    If its not that, than I dont know, and maybe one of the more knowledgable people should pipe in.
