sp_lock question
When I run sp_lock, i see a lot of processes showing a type of DB... what does it exactly mean to say the process has a DB level lock? Since the mode shows a S (shared) lock , is it still a matter of any concern?
Any more views will help in understaning this better..
Thanks!

Each connection will have a DB Shared lock, this is how SQL server prevents you from dropping a database if anyone is logged on to that database.
You don't have to worry about it.

oh ok... thanks!
if I am looking for blocked processes, will a WAIT on a status, mean that it could be blocking a process??

You can find blocking process with sp_who2 easily.
