Authentication on Real Server

Hi guys,
I'm trying to do some authentication on a (LIVE) real media file while this file is running I want to give permission to some people and stop the others.
These permission has to be from a Database and my Database is already built in MySQL but Real Server Does not Support MySQL it supports every thing but not what I want basically and I found that it supports ODBC.
One of the guys told that this should give you the ability to use MySQL.
I think his right but I do not know how
Any ideas guys please
