Running ASPDB-Pro starts firing error 80040e14

    Box : NT4 SP5 IIS4
    ASPDB-Pro 1.2208c Pro

As soon as I run a page that uses ASPDB, other pages start firing the error. The error is covered in the MSKB Q189448.

I was wondering if it would be possible to get a version that was compiled with a different version of VB.

    Anton.

    Hi Anton,

The problem is probably not with the version of VB, but your ADO drivers.
What exactly is your error? Try installing the ADO/MDAC 2.1 drivers first.
You can find the link at http://www.aspdb.com/usefullinks.asp.

    Thanks,
    John

    John,

I tried installing MDAC 2.1 several times. My ASP stopped working. I've been through the process twice already, and trust me it's painful.

The only way I could make it work was by re-installing IIS, which is even more painful. I have MDAC 2.1 installed on my dev machine running as smooth as butter, but on the server.. no bueno.

    Thanx.
    Anton

    Hi Anton,

Sounds like something's corrupted on your server to me. Whenever that's
happened on our end, we just wiped it out, installed clean NT / IIS / MTS
and were up in no time. Was faster than spending days debugging. Clean
system is guaranteed to work. Nothing else is.

    Take care,
    John
