Sending text from html to Access db with one field - datatype: memo

As I explain in the subject, I need to be able to send large texts form a FROM I created in Ultra Dev to the Access 2000 db that I have created. If I type in the contents directly in Access, my second page "newsletter.asp" pick it up just fine. But I need to be able to change the contents of the field dynamically, through a form I have in "submit.asp". The text in the form just doens't want to be stored in the field if the data type is memo. If I change the data type to text it works just fine, but I am restricted to 255 chars. Any idea why?
